The Importance of Community and Play in 3D Spaces

Session Description

When educators and their students are fearful or troubled, it is a challenge to teach and even harder to learn. Helping students get comfortable and stay focused in 2020 required building a strong community. Here is what we did at Virtual Harmony to develop our skills and celebrate life. This session features the joys of informal learning and playful spaces that strengthen the spirit. Share your stories during the session.

Dr. Calongne is a game and virtual world enthusiast and conducts research in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence.

Her team won the $25,000 grand prize in the Federal Virtual World Challenge for their space simulation.

For fun, she was Myxen in the credits for the TV series Bar Karma by Will Wright, famous for his work on The Sims, SimCity, and Spore.
